What is this?
The short answer: I don't know (yet).
Bootstrap101, in all of its vagueness, is my attempt at answering the "Why is everything on the internet so fake?" question.
This project was born out of my own personal frustrations during my ongoing entrepreneurial quest — but more specifically, how incredibly difficult it has become to find quality startup/business-focused resources.
Our online world is becoming dangerously flooded with misleading information, AI spam, guru nonsense and more. Bootstrap101 is being built to (hopefully) become some sort of beacon of authenticity for entrepreneurs.
The Bootstrap101 idea has taken many different forms, and while I have interesting, or stupid, ideas (a better LinkedIn? real cofounder matching?), I realized that the best thing I could do right now is put something out, and then build it up/out from there based on feedback.
While I'm not sure what the future holds for a project like this, I do know what it won't become — and that's a crap-filled-unqualified-course-promoting cesspool.
As of now, this project will serve as a database of curated resources with a floating Bootstrap101 stamp of approval that says "this content is reasonably authentic, sincere, rooted in truth/experience, etc".
Today, each category is pretty bare - I'd like for the community to make suggestions for now entries to be added so that it isn't just limited to my own personal watch/read/listen-list.
Feel free to share suggestions here.
Over time my hope is that Bootstrap101 can become a sort of safe haven for entrepreneurs to find valuable resources that may have otherwise been buried under louder (and less qualified) content.
